Fox launches "Space, Inc" with Naren Shankar as show runner.

The space race is back.

Fox television has purchased the drama pilot “SPACE, INC”, the TV series written by Micah Herman and David Gross. Naren Shankar (“THE EXPANSE”) will serve as show runner and executive producer.

Dana Brunetti (HOUSE OF CARDS, FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, CAPTAIN PHILLIPS) will produce.

Described as "SOCIAL NETWORK with rockets", the project is currently being packaged at CAA. Here's some backstory on the series:

Space, Inc. is a serialized drama set in an extraordinary workplace. It tells the story of the unlikely family that forms when two dot-com whiz kids buy out a small aerospace company. Together, they struggle against incredible odds to take on goliaths in the emerging privatized space industry.

This isn’t just an excuse to blast rockets into orbit, it’s a way to explore America at the crossroads of a critical time in human history. The players involved come from all walks of life, ranging from Silicon Valley to Capitol Hill, from the billionaires who dream of molding the future to the local townspeople whose lives are forever changed by the spaceport in their backyard.

Space is open for business. Check back for more announcements soon...
